McNairy County GOP Convention

Last Saturday was the McNairy County GOP Convention. There were more than 200 people in attendance and the room was packed.

Our State Senator and State Representative are so good about coming to every meeting of ours that they can. We really appreciate their taking the time to properly represent the people of their district!

Incumbent Harvey Neal Smith is chosen as the Republican candidate for Road Commissioner.
County Mayor Jai Templeton is nominated as our candidate for another term.
The only contested race at this year's convention was the race for Sheriff.

Huckabee Wins Presidential Straw Poll at Values Voters Summit

Mike Huckabee cruised to an easy victory in a presidential straw poll taken among attendees at a social conservative conference, beating a group of four other Republican contenders by an over two-to-one margin.

Our family enjoyed attending another TEA Party in Selmer last Saturday.

Straw Poll Results

Here are the straw poll results from the West Tennessee Victory 2010 Rally last evening.

Ramsey - 59
Wamp - 59
Haslam - 24
Gibbons - 19
Kirkpatrick - 4

There were several hundred people attending the event, so apparently most voters are still undecided.

West Tennessee Victory 2010 Rally

Our family enjoyed attending the Victory 2010 Kick-off Rally in Hardin County today. All 5 of the Republican candidates for Governor of Tennessee (Bill Gibbons, Bill Haslam, Joe Kirkpatrick, Ron Ramsey, and Zach Wamp) spoke at the rally.
The rally was hosted by the Republican parties of Hardin, Henderson, McNairy, and Wayne counties. There was a great turnout and the building was packed!
